Hello AppSheet user community,
Today, AppSheet experienced in outage impacting its Dynamic Email feature [1]. The issue began at approximately 4:00 AM (04:00) Pacific Time 12-Oct, and was mitigated approximately 10:52 AM PT 12-Oct.
The root cause was a bad configuration change pushed by the Gmail team supporting the AMP for Email feature, on which AppSheet Dynamic Email depends.
AppSheet became aware of the incident from our internal test automation as well as support channels, and engaged the Gmail team appropriately to rollback at approximately 10:00 AM PT. Once the rollback was initiated, the issue resolved in approximately 30 minutes.
Impacted AppSheet customers would see a "Something went wrong" error banner when attempting to open an email with an AppSheet Dynamic Email view embedded inside. Once the issue was mitigated, these emails began to render properly again.
