In a case where there may be bad connectivity in a warehouse and employees are inputting data on a phone, when is the data the employee entered accessible to the employee? Assuming the system hasnโt synced due to bad connectivity, can the employee reference the data on his phone or does it have to hit the google sheet before it can be referenced?
Example:
Employee enters a record in Form A and presses Save. Unable to sync due to bad connectivity.
Employee goes to Form B to enter info there but some of the defaults are dependent on data just entered into Form A.
Can the employee reference the data on his phone or does it have to hit the google sheet before it can be referenced?
We currently do not have Enable Server caching turned on as the data is not read-only. Are there any other options to improve sync times?
Solved! Go to Solution.
All changes made in the app should be applied within the userโs app immediately, even before the data is sent to the server and written to the spreadsheet. Data changed by the server (e.g., by workflows or bots) or data generated by the spreadsheet itself (e.g., by spreadsheet formulas) will not be available to the userโs device until the sync completes.
Iโm really not sure I understand what you mean here. What do you mean with โreferenceโ?
Thanks Steve, this is helpful.
By โreferenceโ I mean if the user entered data into Form A say for example โentered a trailer number into the trailer table including the description and the weight capacityโ. When they go into Form B tied to another table, can they input the previously entered trailer number and have the corresponding weight of the trailer populated in Form B table by using something like [trailer_number].[weight]? Or does the sync need to take place before the weight can be referenced?
Yep!
Nope!
