Click on the "Tips & Resources" link and then on "Education" menu option at the top of this window.

There are also 3rd party organizations that offer training courses.  Just search for "AppSheet training courses".

I have tried in various places, on here, on Youtube or on various websites. I am seriously considering an online course as I have arrived as about as far as i can on my own.  My big problem are with (and not only) expressions and formulas. Any impartial advice on where to get an up to date course for beginners that will make a big difference? I have looked on Udemy but know no other platforms offering a reasonably-priced course.

There is no other official way to learn about the platform than the resources John already mentioned.

You can try by reading the documentation, that's how I learned
