Personally I find people that start with templates have a harder time with Appsheet. They start off with something that sort of works and they they spend hours trying to reshape it into what they want. I strongly suggest starting out with a blank spreadsheet if you can.
By way of further help you might want to watch the Appsheet videos on youtube - https://www.youtube.com/c/AppSheetApps/videos The are a bit long winded for me but for someone starting out they can help guide you through the build process.
Alternatively, consider paying one of the many Appsheet devs an hour or two to get your app roughly where it needs to be. What they can can do in 2 hours would take a beginner a day or more of struggle.
