Changing table to read only to increase speed

Team,
I have an APP that I want to break into two or three apps; each smaller app will be more specific to a function versus having one massive app. My plan is to copy my massive app and remove functionality by making certain tables ‘read only’. This certainly will be easy. Question is: do i need to go into my Columns and remove all the app formulas and expressions or will it ignore all these since this table will be read only?
