Columns show in Grouping although Show-if conditions disallows

I have three optional levels of grouping available to the user, they can choose to have anything between 1 and 3 levels to group their documents by. I have a Show_if condition in the table that doesn’t show level 2 or 3 if not required. This works perfectly everywhere except here:

I need the grouping by level 3 and then level 2 if the user is using all 3 levels but don’t need it to show (as in this example) if the user doesn’t. I was hoping the Show_if condition would exclude these columns from being grouped by it seems it doesn’t.

Before I create 3 separate views for this grouped view based on how many levels the user has, is there any other solution?

I suspect multiple views is the only way to do it.
