Create a simple app

I'd like to create a very simple app that will record my location, using a dynamic drop down list, with a timestamp using my phones GPS.

Any ideas/suggestions as to how I can do this would be greatly appreciated.

I think I got what I wanted, but would still like to see your suggestions.  Maybe there's a better way than what I created.  I'd share the app for all to see here, but am not sure how to do that.
