Creating a graphical log

Any ideas how I could create a log such as this? 

Each depth interval ( ie 0m to 10m etc) would be saved as a new row, and I will be outputting it all to a PDF. 

The hard bit seems to be how I could lengthen the height of the cells based on the depth value?

You could try something like include in each row a long text type column comprising a number of blank lines determined by the depth value.
