Creating a set of subtasks

Hi,

I am trying to create an app for tracking the status of tasks that includes subtasks.

These are my column headers. I added both tables to the app but I'm having trouble with the subtask section. I have tried making the [To Do List] column a reference to the "Subtasks" table and I've tried making the [Task_ID] column a reference to the "Tasks" table, neither of which has achieved the desired result.

I would like the 'To do list' field to display a list of the subtasks but all I have managed to achieve is a dropdown menu with only one selectable value. I'm sure this is a simple fix but I can't see the issue.

I would like the To Do List field to take me to another view that has a list of subtasks, and also the option to add other subtasks etc.

Can someone PLEASE set me on the right track. This is infuriating.
