Creating an initial value based on current user

I am trying to set up an initial value for a column in a table. 

I want this initial value to be different depending on the current user. 

Is there a way to do this with an expression, I have tried:

USEREMAIL()=jp@ldmg.co.uk, initial value= "Customer Works", "Other" 

For the above I get a Y/N obviously so that's not right but couldn't think of what else to try. 

e.g. 

If useremail= "jp@help.com" then show initial value as "CW"
