Data Security

Currently Images captured are stored in phone gallery as well, this should be auto deleted from phone once the upload is completed. The images are captured using in app camera can be used else where also by the staff, like sharing internal photos of manufacturing process to someone out side using WhatsApp. This is important for data security, at least in my clients factory. @preethamm

Hi all,

We've just added a new option in the editor to prevent images from being saved to the user's photo gallery/camera roll. You can find this option under UX -> Options -> Input.
Please note that this requires the user to have version 15.7 on Android or 15.2 on iOS or higher installed on their device. On earlier version the image would always be saved to the gallery.
Also, just a reminder that users can always use the device's screenshot feature to capture what's on screen.

@mandard @Gil Do you have any thoughts on this? I do not know the device camera aspects that well.

For Example, We have disabled the gallery input, to prevent the user to add old images as new, so this is solved. But, The photos which captured in camera input only method, the images are saving to gallery, which is a risk for data. You can add a security feature to hide these photos in gallery by default and delete them automatically once the data is synced.

Hi, thanks for the suggestion. Appsheet does have a setting (e.g. on iOS, Settings app->Appsheet -> Save photos to camera roll) that toggles saving the photos to the camera roll. Does that work for you?

Hi

We don't want photos to be saved in phone camera roll. We are android only.

If users are accessing the app using their personal device, there will always be a possibility that they could take a screenshot of images or data, even if images never interact with the phone's gallery. I think your company would have to create a security policy so they could install other software to prevent users from saving and sending images. If the devices could be controlled by the company, then they could also change the settings of the phone's gallery as described by @mandard

Of course, the legality of implementing that software on personally owned devices will differ per country.
