Default incoming qcr information to input form

Is this possible - @praveen (and I see @Anand_Venu also askedโ€ฆ in post Scan QR code and get the information filled in a form)

  1. scan qcr code from iphone/android (outside of appsheet - assume person doesnโ€™t know appsheet exists)
  2. app launches, b/c qcr code is pointed to appsheet app
  3. app recognized qcr values, and defaults incoming values

ex. QCR code on piece of equipment called โ€œthingamjiggerโ€. Need user to scan it with phone and take them to the app. The app then has text field defaulted to โ€œthingamjiggerโ€.

thanks!

Responded in the referenced thread. You need a deep link to an app specifying the form view and the default values.

Adding @Gil โ€“ could you please point Matt to the best documentation we have for launching an AppSheet app via a deep link

Hi @Matthew_Brown,
I think praveenโ€™s post in the other thread covers all you need to do.
When a user opens a deeplink (or scans a QR that contains a deeplink) in a mobile device one of 2 thing will happen:

  • If AppSheet is installed on the userโ€™s device, the app would open and navigate to the deeplink.
  • If AppSheet isnโ€™t installed the deeplink would open in the browser.

yep, thanks guys I got it working should have thought of this prior!!!
