Eliminate the zero appearing in the number field

In order to make the capture faster and so that people do not have to manually delete the zero, is it possible to make it not appear?

I believe there's no zero to delete, but rather those characters appear simply as ghost text to provide guidance to users regarding the type of data to enter. Try just typing in the field without deleting and you should see that the zero disappears. I believe there's no way to hide the ghost text.
