FAQ template has stopped adding Question ID (in Ref column) when new answer submitted

I have a FAQ app that I build out from one of the templates. It has a "New Answer" option, which used to populate a new row in the data table with a new ID for that row, and then the ID of the question to which it was an answer in another column. It worked fine for about 10 answers, and then stopped. I've tried to compare the settings to another fresh template and all looks the same! Any ideas what this might be?

Afaik, there is (practically) no such limits.

Which template are you using?

I'm using the FAQ template, but I made some adjustments (like adding categories) but all was still working okay. Ran a check of it last night (demo'd it for a co-worker) and it worked perfectly: when adding an answer it made a reference link to the question to which it related by adding the question ID in the row for the answer. Now it's not doing that
