File Upload in Appsheet with excessive filename, not following standard naming conversion

I am using Appsheet with Smartsheet as my table/data backend.

I have multiple file upload fields in my project but noticed that when they upload they create an excessively long filename with portions duplicated multiple times often.

I understand the original file name isn't kept and that Appsheet creates a new file name in the form:[KEY_COLUMN].[COLUMN_NAME].[UTC-TIMESTAMP].[FILE EXTENSION]

But what I am getting in my Smartsheet column is something like:  5866372688990084.__2532434849255300.__Opportunity Upload 1.__2532434849255300.__Opportunity Upload 1.__f04ea95c.Opportunity Upload 1.100618.pdf

Sometimes the beginning numbers will repeat multiple times, enough to make the file unopenable due to character limits.

Any idea what is going on here?  Is there any way to just have a thumbnail of the document show as these are PDF presentations.  The details screen for these look ugly (see below) and a simple thumbnail would be preferred.  Or at the least the cleaner, shortened file name.

How this files are uploaded? Through normal interface?
