I have a grouped behaviour rule where the second step is a “copy this row and edit the copy” action. I wondered whether it would be possible to show the original row once the user saves the copy?

You could do that with another Event action (LINKTOROW) when you save the form. For doing that, you would need to have the original key value in that copy record.
