How much faster can Air Table process large datasets than excel?

I have an app that requires about 300,000 rows of monitoring data, and while it works fine, it's brutally slow (about 120 seconds to load initially). Part of that is because I can't use security filters since it's best suited as a public app. Using a MySQL database would probably be the best option, but before going to the enterprise plan, I'd like to know how much more efficient Air Table is than excel.

From AppSheetโ€™s documentations:

  • True databases like mySQL are generally the best. 
  • Excel is slow. Better to use Office365 than a hosted Excel file. 

  • The second best option after a true database, among all others, is Google Sheets which would give you the best performance.

 

So I suggest that you first try to move your data from Excel to Google Sheets. Also, read this guide carefully:
