How to share app template?

Let's say I have an app I use personally. I want to share a template so people can use it as a stepping stone. How do I do that? (I have not deployed my app).

Thank you for the link. Basically, I have to create the app twice.

"Note: The data in your portfolio is visible to the public. Never include confidential data in an app shared to your portfolio."

This means that I have to create a different app with the same logic to share it if I want to not share my data. Even with the "copy app" option, the new app points to the same spreadsheet. The option "make copy of the data" does nothing to me. Since pointing manually to a different file means recreating tables, views, etc, it is essentially building an app twice. 😕
