Is the "default app folder" only for uploaded files?

If I changed the path to the "default app folder", will it affect anything other than uploaded files?

I discovered that the "default app folder" for a working app is using a path that no longer exists (this app is developed based on a copy of its predecessor). We aren't using the upload function. So I am wondering if I can just change the path to where I thought it ought to be-the actual folder for this app?

The Default app folder affects where the Bot saves the file if you have not specified something else in the Bot. It doesn't affect where the app saves your images or files with the image or file columns.

Thanks! This caught my attention because I discovered the database (Google Sheet) in an unexpected folder. Not sure what happened, but need to fix it.
