Is there any way, even a round-about way, to allow co-authors for an app?

Based on my search, co-author isn't possible at all with AppSheet. Is it unequivocally and absolutely true? I don't mean to be facetious, but in this day and age, how can this be? 

Has anybody come up with some sort of a hack that somehow makes it possible for several people to work together without making the app a "public sample"?

I know that list, but none on the list is what I need. That line, "If two users attempt to edit an app at the same time, conflicts may occur when the app is saved", is the deal killer. 

But AppSheet has version control. So why can't it manage two users work on the same app via version control?

Concurrent editing and co-authorship are not the same thing.

Why is it so much of a deal-killer for you? How would version control allow concurrent editing to be possible? What other systems have you even seen where concurrent editing is possible?
