Merging two tables (Sales & Payments) to form account statmen

I want to merge two tables i.e Sales & Payments into one and create a view of virtual columns to show some sort of account statement.

Sales has the following structure

Payments table has the following structure

Would like to have account statement to show the following structure specific to individual customers

Any idea or suggestion if this can be implemented

There is no way to merge tables within the app itself. You can approximate it in a report, though.
