Select a record or records to create a PDF and send in email

I have read documentation tangential to this question but I cannot put it together. I have created a few actions before. I also know how to create a bot to make a PDF for one record and email it.   But the only trigger events seem to be based on either data change or schedule. I need the user to select the report that he wants to include in a PDF from a List view.  Then he would tap an action button to trigger a bot to make a PDF. The best solution would for the user to select 3-5 reports at once and create one PFD report. But selecting one at a time would be acceptable.

Correct. The typical implementation is to create an action that changes data in a manner that's arbitrary other than to trigger an automation.
