Show if ignores initial value

When I use the “Show if” clause to to show a “Completed date” field if in a previous field the job is completed (Completed = Y), I cannot set the initial value of the date field to TODAY(). The “Initial Value” of the completed date field appears to be ignored.

The Initial value expression is only used when the row is newly-created–unless Reset on edit is enabled. I’m guessing you want the Initial value expression to work when the user updates an existing row? If so, you’ll need to enable Reset on edit.
