Using Format Rules on Virtual Columns that are type Show and Category 'Page_Header'

Is this an option and if so if someone can direct me on how. 

I have tried unsuccessfully the obvious of trying to create under the data source and selecting the Virtual Column.

Unless there have been updates, this does not seem supported.

Thank you.  So odd to see that generally, the function of having Header definitions to support structural UI design has been left out in the ability to use Formatting features.  This is a common UI pattern for solutions.  The comments are back in 2019, so I gather it is not moving forward as a functional need.
