Virtual column or spreadsheet column

Hi, Which is better virtual columns or spreadsheet columns?
What is better for sync ?

I have just been reading many articles in these forums on such this question. The answer is, it depends. Sometimes the answer is obvious such as if you need to a dynamic calculation based upon other values but if you take an example of [First Name] and [Family Name], if you want a [Full Name] column is it best to be a virtual column or not. The size of your data will often dictate this.
