What can I do when hitting database 'per query' size limits?

When using Amazon Redshift, there is apparently a limit to the size of data they will return from a single query request currently set at 100MB.  When the data size is larger, it results in AppSheet errors.

Does this query size limit happen for all (or even many) cloud database service providers?

Is anyone else dealing with a database of this size and NOT experiencing issues?  If so, what tool is the database managed with.

I understand why there is a size limit for cloud services.  But it seems that AppSheet services should be handling these limitations internally, abstracting it away from App Creators.

What options do App Creators have to try to mitigate this issue?

Long story short, it seems that Amazon Redshift just IS NOT a good fit as a datasource for AppSheet apps.
