Hi everyone,

in my index of materials app in table view, I would like to show what color each materials are.

I don't think appsheet has the specific colors that I want, do I just go find images of color and add them in my column as thumb nail?

or is there a better way to go about it?

I also want the names to show next to it like

black (and thumbnail of the color)

AppSheet has a column type called Color with color options as listed below. The colors columns show a bit differently in size in various views.

AppSheet color column shows: : Black, Blue, Green, Orange, Purple, Red, Yellow, and White.

Yes, alternative is to include a thumbnail. However if you also wish to show some text with the thumbnauil, you will need another text column and it may not be very user friendly as color thumbnail and description may show one below the other in detail and form view etc.

Yet another third option is to use external services as mentioned in the below creative tip by @Grant_Stead. These will show text on a color background.

There are some more such tips on using external services for text on color in the tips and tricks section. Please evaluate use of external service though if it fits into your app security requirements.
