item is not available in ref list

AppSheet: I have a column that has a ref list. I want to enter manually if the same item is not available in the ref list.

The option "Is a part of" should be ON.

when I press the tab or go to the next column this entry is not accepted.

Do you mean that, if you press the "New", it doesn't do anything or it doesn't accept it? The purpose of the "New" button is to open a new form from your Ref table so you are able to add a new record into the table. When you say "not accepted", what it shows then?
