I just searched for "localization" in the documentation but, unless I missed it, I don't think there's anything about using "localization" settings to change the system messages. Ideally, I'd like to have explanations about all of the system messages (when they would come up, the intended meaning, etc.). In some cases the meanings and situations in which they come up are pretty obvious but not always. Proper translation requires clear understanding of the meaning. More over, examining the system message might be a back door to learning more about the platform's capabilities.
Also, at least one of the localization articles I found was a "dead end" (no links to other articles about "localization" that actually exist). Articles on related topics should be linked.
