Hello. ¿Is there a way to know as to why a Failover happened in a CloudSQL (Postgres) instance? In the PostgreSQL logs I do not see any indication for the failover.

Hello.

Yes, the logs we are reviewing are the instance logs. Unfortunately there is no indication here as to why the failover happened.

It would be really cool to have the reason for the failover on the operations log, a failover can happen for a lot of reasons, having the reason on the operations log would help a lot.

The discussion can be closed because unfortunately there is no option for us users to see the reason for a failover only Google Engineers have that hability (to have the reason for a failover you have to pay for support in order to open a ticket).

Thanks

Are the logs that you are trying to get the Instance logs? You can choose using the Console or the gcloud tool. You can also Monitor your instance to get some clues. Based on what you get there, you can try some troubleshooting. Here is an example on how to troubleshoot using the logs.
