”Slice” can be selected for Format Rule

Currently, only proper “Table” only selected to apply Format Rule. I wish to have an option to apply Format Rule to user generated slice as target.

If you have a view for that slice, you could use CONTEXT(“View”)=“ViewName”. Could this solve the challenge?

Technically yes, but I’m lazy as you know. Slice could have bunch of different type of view, it takes time to set up, so ability to select slice to apply format rule is making this story and jobs simpler and easier.
That’s behind my feature request.

@Aleksi, can you explain your workaround? I don’t follow where/how to use CONTEXT(“View”)=“ViewName” in order to apply a Format Rule to a slice.

Actually you don’t assign the format rule to a Slice (because it’s not possible at this moment) but if you create a view that’s using slice as a source, you could show the format rule only on that slice related view.

It makes a lot of sense to filter format rules to sliced data in the same way that you can filter actions.  I heartily recommend this feature!
