Cannot login to VM instance because too high reading disk throughout.

Scenario:

VM instance was running normally, but its reading disk throughout increased suddenly and I cannot log in again anymore.

I tried to check the CPU and Memory usage by Google Cloud metrics but it showed nothing after its disk reached the highest throughout and kept at the top. (200m/s)

Because I cannot login to the machine, I cannot check which process caused this problem, and I'm sure there is not any process that needs to read the disk so frequently or needs too much data.

I guess it might be caused by Google Cloud Ops Agent or  My VScode plugins.

Is there someone who meets the same issue? Could someone give me some advice?

Hello @shui,

Welcome to Google Cloud Community!

Is there any error message upon login? You may also look for any error messages or logs displayed in the console view. These might provide clues about the cause of the disk spike and login failure.

Thanks!
