A lot have been done about duplicating records, for use cases such as Quotes and invoices for example.
Based on excellent posts such as these ones:

I propose here two more sample apps:
PF_Parent_Child1_Child2_noBot
This one duplicates a parent row alons with various "children" branches. This requires to know how many different branches are possible in advance.
PF_Parent_Child_GC_noBot
This one duplicates a parent, a child, and a grand-child.
These two mechanisms can be merged into an even more powerful duplication system, but the purpose of these two sample apps are to be "how-to" apps.
