I'm trying to sign my non-profit organization up for google workspace accounts and I'm literally getting nowhere. Our non-profit status has been approved but trying to get into workspace to even start a free trial has been a headache.

How to Activate Google Workspace for Nonprofits 

So, when you say 'approved', do you mean that Google has verified your application (and requirements), and notified you that you've been granted this Workspace access?  If yes, then continue the sign-up for Workspace if you haven't already.  As part of this step you'll need to verify your Internet Domain, that you intend to use with Workspace.  There's another review and finally you'll get to sign-in to the Admin Console .. to setup your new accounts.
