Adding and removing chart series

I have a column series line chart which shows 8 series. I would like users to be able to select which series they see on the graph. I was hoping that setting the show_if to true or false for the column would achieve this but it doesn’t seem to - does anyone have any ideas how or if this can be done ?

Click one of those color icons in the right upper corner and it will hide that serie.
