Alert for a missing data field

I am trying to create the following action:
IF a user selects to CLOSE CASE (column drop down)
THEN have other columns highlighted/flagged as potential missing information. Does anyone have experience with this situation?

Also, I do not want to make those columns required though, as there maybe legitimate reasons for the fields to be missing.

You could add one or more (virtual?) columns of type Show to display appropriate messages.

You might be able to use format rules to highlight the incomplete columns with an icon.

I’ve implemented your first suggestion! Worked to flag the user. I will also try your second suggestion to see if I can create a formatting rule dependent on an IF/THEN statement.
