Also is there anyway to remove the EDIT action button? I want to be able to add my own action

button i.e. a COMPLETED button, but to do that I have to allow the table to be UPDATED and once that option is selected the small pencil “EDIT” icon becomes visible.

You can hide it from Behavior > Action > Show system actions > Choose correct Edit action > Choose “Do not display”
