Barcode scan override (column specific)

i know there is already a general setting for allow(or not) manual entry of scannable fields, but it would be awesome if we could control that from the column level(like right under where you toggle for scannable). in one of my apps, its absolutely imperative that one of my values comes from a bar code only, but there are others fields that are scannable, but not every entry would come from a bar code, so manual entry is necessary. ive done a temp fix for this with a value max/min, but this wouldnt be possible if this field wasnt a number.

Have you tried with setting the UX > Options > Allow scan input override parameter to ON?
