Calendar- automatic start date out of the day selected in the view

We need a simple feature that allow the user to set the start date automatically when making a new entry on calendar view.

For example: I’m in calendar, I touch April 4th 2020, the day tab for that day is shown, add new button is touched, and finally the start date for that entry is set to April 4th 2020.

I just tried this on a calendar view I’m building for a client: tapping on a specific date in the calendar, then hitting the plus button - assuming that the date would carry over.

Unfortunately it did not.

@Adam I would think this would be automatic behavior for a calendar view when viewing a specific date.
