Calendar View - Hold down the date then intiate "Add new row" action

Currently it is only option to add new event to calendar (and view) by firing action button on calendar view. To make the User experience richer, I wish to have native built-in action to add new event through the calendar view, where the user “hold down” the selected date on calendar, then "add new row (= add new event) " action is initiated with pre-filled date value as per user selection date.

I had a client with the same request. They didn’t like when I told them it wasn’t possible, so here’s what I came up with:

Hold on to your apps, this one is gonna get a little weird. The default calendar view doesn’t provide a way to pick a timeslot when opening the form. I came up with a hack using a new table that contains only one sheet column for the hour, and 7 virtual columns for the day of the week.
