Hi there, Currently AppSheet supports unencrypted nfc scans only. If you have a door that can be opened with an nfc tag, the tag better be encrypted.

Hi Marlon, generally speaking the door is the one that has the NFC reader and those tend to be encrypted or have hard coded codes. So you wouldnโ€™t be able to manage access points that way with AppSheet as the app itself would be the reader instead of the locking mechanism in the door.

@Gil_Littman_AppSheet I couldnโ€™t tag you in this post. Mind taking a look? plus.google.com - +Gil Littman @Santiago Will the NFC deal in appsheetโ€ฆ +Gil Littman @Santiago Will the NFC deal in appsheetโ€ฆ plus.google.com

@Santiago

Could the door be opened with some kind of Webhook triggered by an NFC Tag Scan in the app?

The app could control the Official Authorization to fire the Door Open Webhook.

Would still require a Sync, so this sounds a bit cumbersome even if possible.

@Stephen_Mattison You could do it, Iโ€™m not sure if you should. Potentially anyone that is holding an authorized tag, could read itโ€™s content and use it to make more โ€œkeysโ€.
