Currently, we can create an app in google sheets (just as an example), and later on we can copy that app to Azure SQL Server. This is an incredibly powerful design pattern, btw.
However, we can only do this for data sources which are not shared. Perhaps we are concerned about an entire org of “appsheet users” creating new tables in a shared database.
However, we should not be concerned about this and should instead embrace the idea of multiple authors using the following workflow:
- design using a static source like excel or google
- copy app to a shared (and more powerful) data source like Postgres, MySql or SQL Server.
