Capture Uploaded File's Date/Time Metadata

Hi, I’m looking to utilise image fie metadata, specifically datetime, location where available to default populate entry fields in a journal. This would greatly simplify / enhance validity of records entered.

If your file is on gdrive and the metadata is accessible, it’s possible to do with google apps scripting.

Thanks! Using the Google app scripting approach, would this be able to run upon the upload of an image to the form? I was looking to have the metadata applied as initial values to a journal form as the user is completing the entry.

No, it runs after the form is saved, not during populating the form. So, it requires a resync in order to see what the script wrote to the sheet.
