Change log with Google Script

I am using Google sheets as the backend of my app and I found a script that will record a changelog for all changes I make to the Google sheets backend manually. Even though AppSheet modifies the backend when a user saves changes, the changes that the user saves are not recorded in the changelog created by the script. I suspect this is because AppSheet has not authorized Google to track its changes. How do I record changes to the backend made by AppSheet in a changelog? Here’s a censored screenshot of the change log. In reality it includes user information I rather not post on a public forum:
