ChromeBooks

When an AppSheet application is executed on a ChromeBook, does it behave like in a web browser or like in a smartphone? Specifically, I am wondering if “scannable” columns will read barcodes from a ChromeBook.

I expect it will work like a smart phone.

Has anyone checked on this? I want to buy a cheap chromebook to use for clocking in and out using a QR code because my regular laptop won’t turn on the camera for my scannable data, but I don’t want to spend the money if it doesn’t work. Thanks!

I’ve just installed Chrome OS (for fun) and I can answer this with the following:

This translates to
AppSheet from AppSheet is not available on Google Play for this device”
So… I guess there is just browser app for now

I was searching answers to this question and saw an older post that said the Android App did install on Chromebooks.

Is this a permanent change or bug?  I was looking put AppSheet on a CB.

TIA
