Copying app, does data copy also?

Hello,

I’d like to be able to copy my app for others to use. The underlying structure is useful to others but the source data would need to be modified for others. I see the option to copy and that’s easy enough. My question is about the source data. If I also copy the data does it create new spreadsheets in my google drive account or is the copy accessing the original spread sheets?

If the copy is accessing the original spread sheets how can I set it up to access different versions which can have different data?

So I saw that and did it. Bu t I don’t see where the copy of the data is. That’s my question. My data source is Google Drive. When it says it’s copying data does it create a copy of each spreadsheet in Google Drive? Because I didn’t see any copies.
