Dashboard, Interactive

I have a simple dashboard that shows a Map of Level 1 Assets. And underneath two tables showing the children assets at Level 2 and Level 2.

When I click on a Level 1 asset from the Map the Level 2 table correctly shows the children assets.

BUT, the Level 3 table assets continues to show the previous view

I have to click on a Level 2 asset in the table to get it to correctly display.

Am I doing something wrong or is this as how the Dashboard is designed to work?

Many thanks in advance for any assistance

It sounds that you donโ€™t have any relationship between the Map and Level 3. Is that true?

The relationship is between the tables

Is that relationship only between tables Level 2 and Level 3?

Yes, thatโ€™s correct.

I was hoping for automatic cascading from Level 1 Map to Level 2 Table (which works) and on to Level 3 Tableโ€ฆ

Am I asking too much?

Actually, having written the reply I can see that Table 3 needs to know which record in Table 2 to reference

Would be nice to pop up a user message as a reminderโ€ฆ

Iโ€™ve come across this post

that has the same UX issue and is requesting a blank table view rather than old, unrelated data

If you create a virtual Ref column to your Level 3 it should filter that table view when choosing the Map record.

So, in Level 1 Column Structure create a Virtual Ref to Level 3 Name?

Or the other way around?

Iโ€™d definitely need code help for that

It sounds that you need a Ref field in your Level 3 table. You can read the value with the Deref app formula from table Level 2.

Thank you Aleksi, I shall try it out later
