Directions between 2 points

Is it possible to ask google to open directions between two addresses and not just your current location and the destination?

For example, I have a standard driver dispatch app. When I click on one of the pins, it opens a detail view of that pin with the “car” icon available for directions. When I click that car, it opens google maps with directions to the pickup location. I’d like it to open with directions between pickup and dropoff, the two addresses in the entry.

Any ideas?

I believe that’s only possible thru Google Apps Scripting and Google Maps API.
