Do you need a business subscription to use the API for this kind of operations? https://help.appsheet.com/integrations/api/example-copying-newly-added-records

The normal use of integrations is to connect your app with external services. In fact, the API is used specifically for this purpose. Yes, the API and integrations require a business subscription.
At the moment, we lack an action that can automatically add a new row and populate it. We only have actions that add rows through UI. So this article you reference provides an awkward (and short-term) workaround โ use an outbound webhook message back to our API endpoint.
Very soon, weโll provide this as a native action and then it wonโt involve the API.
