Downsizing uploaded PDF files

Is there a way to compress uploaded PDF files? The reason I want this, besides for saving space, is that I want to use a select(Table[File], […]) expression in a workflow, to email the user a bunch of files. But if each file is in the range of 3MB rather than 25KB, the emails don’t go through as it maxes out on the email size quite fast. Any suggestions?

I’m afraid there is no way to compress data directly with a Workflow.

Rather than large files, it might be beneficial to send file download links
